April Fools Or Freudian Slip

CEO Tim Cook Renames Apple

April Fools or Freudian Slip

Made an appearance on "Good Morning America" today

CEO of a global tech giant found himself the butt of an unusual joke from the leader of the free world when US President Donald Trump repeatedly referred to him as "Tim Apple." during a press conference wednesday. Apple, who was present at the meeting to discuss investment by the tech giant in America, seemed to take the flub in stride, on thursday.

The joke, which made its way to social media within minutes, touched a nerve with many online users who saw it as a reflection of Trump's unfamiliarity with the business world and technology industry in particular. Others, however, defended the president, saying that the flub was simply a slip of the tongue and that there was no need to read too much into it.

Apple himself has not commented on the incident, but he did make light of it on thursday during an appearance on "Good Morning America." When asked about the name blunder, Apple joked, "Well, I've been called worse." He then went on to say that he was proud of the work that Apple was doing in America and that he was committed to continuing to invest in the country.

Whether or not the president's comment was a Freudian slip, it is clear that the tech industry is now firmly on his radar. And with Apple at the helm of one of the most powerful companies in the world, it will be interesting to see how the relationship between the two men develops in the coming years.
